Return here every year very friendly like a family away from home very helpful our grandson now goes with us
Just stayed at this site over the August bank holiday great site very big pitches toilet and shower blocks not the most up-to-date but always clean and tidy and hot water site kept very clean
Right under the flight path next to Sandown airport. Showing its age, needs a good makeover. Most pitches are sloping. Toilets closed for 2hrs each day. Will not return.
The first impression was that the site was well set out individual areas giving privacy. The grass was well kept and pitches reasonably spacious and level. As we were placed upon the bottom field, road noise was fairly low level. Although some other pitches were close to the road and quite noisy. This is the best I can say about the site. Facilities are poor. There was 1 working shower for ladies for the whole site. 60 pitches. We frequently had to wait for a shower. The shower blocks were in need of a refurbishment. Broken toilet seats. Small cubicles. There were signs informing you that the water was very hot, which it was, but both taps on the sink had cold tops on them so you didn't know which was hot.The washing machines didn't actually wash the clothes and the tumble dryer didn't dry them either. But the final straw was that despite the site rules stating that arrivals should not arrive before 12, the site manager allowed around 10 cars down to our pitches before 10 am. Which meant that we had about 30 people standing watching us waiting for us to pack up. With their dogs running freely around the pitches. Site rules specify that dogs should be on a short lead but it seems this doesn't apply if you are a large group spending money. In summary the site does have potential but is in need of investment and better site management.
Likes- site was lovely and clean, brilliant area close to everything you need. Lucky to have very friendly fellow campersDislikes- the man who runs the place was very abrupt and had few digs at us and our children even thou we where barely on site and other campers also said the same thing. I even heard him saying stuff about as when leaving the toilets!
