Lovely stay overall but bathroom needs some work done to make it more hygienic re bath and sink overflow needs a good clean

Good hotel with some existing original architecture from the 1930s. Rooms are a little dated and could be improved upon by the addition of a safe and a small fridge below the tea making shelf. Food so far has been of good quality but vegetables are a bit on the skimpy side at the evening meal. Breakfast choice is very good.Evening entertainment has not been good based on our first 2 nights. A guy with a keyboard who couldn't sing very well then a younger female singer the next night. She had a much better voice but no atmosphere in the room as full lighting was left on and over half of the audience left the room at the end of the first half.The hotel is located right on the seafront with shops behind up a short but steep hill. There's a less steep hill if you walk left along the promenade and follow the road where it turns left onto the shopping street.
Tiny single room with a demolition site to view from small window. Asked for table for one in dining room as I don't like to sit with others to be told they don't have any single tables and I would have to sit with people I do not know. The only good side is hotel is well decorated.
Central, easy for coach parking. Good for groups, bar reasonable in terms of price. Room adequate and comfortable. Amazing sea view from the rooms at the front. Staff helpful and attentive. Lift often busy but quite quick. Stairs steep in places.
